1: Tyrannosaurus had banana sized teeth. 2: Stegosaurus plates were not for defence but for display/intimidation/mating as they were not attached to the bone. 3: Ankylosaurus was armoured everywhere except it’s belly including its eyelids. 4: Tyrannosaurus was the biggest carnivore alive (Achievement “The King”) until Spinosaurus was discovered and took the throne (Achievement “The Usurper”). 5: Cryolophosaurus is the only dinosaur discovered in Antartica. 6: Archaeopteryx was the first bird but it is considered a dinosaur, it’s name means “Ancient Wing”. 7: Quetzalcoatlus was the biggest flying reptile ever to fly over the surface of ancient Earth. 8: Mei has only had 2 fossils dug up, it’s full name is Mei Long meaning sleeping dragon because the fossils found have been in a sleeping position, and the fossils that were discovered were believed to be juvenile and are only 53cm long. 9: Creatures that lived before the Cretaceous, Jurassic, and Triassic period such as Dimetrodon were not dinosaurs and reptiles that lived during those periods such as Mosasaurs were not dinosaurs. 10: Meganeura is a prehistoric dragonfly, but like other prehistoric bugs and insects it was bigger than modern bugs, it was the size of an eagle with a wingspan of over 70cm.
Fun Fact: There are actually 6 dinosurs from antarctica.
fun fact: 1) the dimetrodon isnt a dinosaur its a synapsid. 2) the holocene extiction(currently ongoing) has killed alot of mammals and animals in general. the dodo and quagga are very good examples of this. the thylancine was killed to extiction and the last one in captivity "benjamin" died in 1933. the same follows for the quagga but in 1833 and the dodo was hunted to extiction in 1760(somewhere near) and the passenger pidgeon was killed to its extiction in 1914. thankfully there are short bits and snips of footage for the thylancine 'benjamin' at his time in the london zoo(might be wrong on that would need to fact check) but this is also a good thing for current day things. this footage is all we truly have to go off of and to see how this animal would've behaved in its envoirment loosely. and how it could really just go big yawn and open its maws extremely wide. which is incredibly interesting imo!! sad to see this unique creature be pushed to its extiction but im incredibly excited to see what happens next for archeology and other extinct research!!
sorry to infodump about extiction haha--
Fun fact: those are some big comments!
Fun Fact Troodon should be added, it could be a raptor type dino
