Cephalotaxus is a small shrubby plant, and is commonly called the 'plum yew' or 'cowtail pine'. It is based off the real-life conifer genus Cephalotaxus. Although they are extinct in Minecraft and you must clone them to add them to your world, Cephalotaxus's real life counterpart can still be found commonly throughout eastern Asia.
Punching a Cephalotaxus will not destroy it, unlike grass. Dinosaurs will not eat this plant.
Like most other things in the mod, it does not spawn naturally in the world.
Cephalotaxus is a small shrub, only reaching 1 block in height. It has a orange-brown and woody stem, and branches that are extremely thick with pine needles. These thick branches give the shrub a very homologous green color all the way through.
This article used to mostly say that the Cephalotaxus looks akin to a large, leafy carrot. Although in-game this plant looks quite carrot-like, the pixels betray it's true nature. Cephalotaxus is actually covered in hardy pine needles, as it is an evergreen conifer, and not long sprouting leaves like a vegetable.
The Cephalotaxus can only be obtained by putting a Plant Fossil in an Analyzer. There is a rare chance that the Analyzer will give back Fossilized Cephalotaxus Seeds, which you then must put in a Culture Vat. Unless the Culture Vat fails and spawns a Failure Plant, it will then turn the Fossilized Seeds into normal Cephalotaxus Seeds which can be planted. Cephalotaxus cannot be duplicated with bone meal.
